The Amazing Minecraft Build challenge!!!

 

Lately, Haki and I and the rest of our class have been doing a building challenge on Minecraft. We had a desert island and we had to build something on it and explain what we have done. I and Haki made a Doomsday bunker with LOTS of different rooms. This project took us about a week or 2 I enjoyed doing it because we got to do Minecraft and enjoy ourselves and make whatever we want. We have been doing this to show the other Teachers that Minecraft can be used as a learning object and make them do it in their class. Have you ever used Minecraft and made something cool if you have I would LOVE to see it.!!

The Horrific NZ TOUR!!!

For about 2 weeks we have been doing a fun NZ tour on google earth. I have been working with Haki and we have a spreadsheet with the places we have been and how much we have sent the money. We start with $10000 and we can't spend over that amount. We have 14 days of the tour then we need to finish back home. I have been enjoying doing it because we get to choose anywhere in NZ I have been learning how to use google spreadsheets and use the formula and budget money using tools on the spreadsheet. Have you ever used Google earth and made an awesome virtual tour around the world if you have I WOULD LOVE TO SEE IT!!.   

The Intense Olympics

 

For the past week, we have been writing and watching the worldwide Olympics. I've been writing about Hayden Wilde and Andrew Knewstubb. We have been learning about the Olympics and people in the past. Hayden participated in the triathlon and Knewstubb was in rugby 7s. Hayden got NZ our first bronze and Andrew and their team got silver in rugby 7s. And today we got gold in the canoe race. The Olympics goes 1 every 4 years. I've enjoyed watching and researching about people that were in it. Have you ever seen or writ about the Olympics before? 

Jack’s And Cody’s SCOPE THE GOAT!!

I have been learning about how to code on Scratch and make games. This is important because it helps you code and your learning and problem-solving. This is mine and Cody’s pong game. We used 4 Like a background, goat, scope, and a forset. different things for this project and lots of different coding. There are tutorials to make different games but we didn’t use any because we knew what to do. The ball is a goat and the block is a Leupold scope. And if the goat hits the red it restarts. What do you think about this game? And have you made a game on Scratch before?

Non'Fiction or Fiction Poster

 

This is my poster on how to spot fake news. It has all the ways of finding if it real or fiction. We are learning about if the tree octopus is real or fake it's our reading task for the week and these are all the ways to find out if your news article is real or not. I enjoyed making this and writing all the ways. We used Canva to make posters and lots! of different stuff. Have you ever created a poster before??

The Wonderful Athletics

Last week some people in Kereru went to Westland High school for district athletics. I made it for 50m ,80m and 1000m. I got 1st in 50m and 2nd in 1000m I didn’t get to do 80m because I broke my ring finger and middle finger. I was really happy making it for West Coast athletics if I make it though for the west coast ill be going to Canterbury and I will race there. Have you ever made it though for anything in athletics before??

BOOK REVIEW!!!!!:Sticking With Pigs

 

This is an awesome book that I have been reading for the past few days. It's called Sticking with Pigs and it's written by Mary-Anne Scott. It’s about hunting pigs. So far I am enjoying reading this book, I am about a quarter of the way through. I enjoy hunting with my Dad, he has stuck a pig but sadly I wasn’t with him that time. Other times we have shot deer. Have you ever been hunting or thought you would like to go? Make sure you go with a responsible adult.

Amazing Clued Up Kids

 

On Friday last week year, 5-6 went to the Boy's Brigade Hall for an event called Clued Up Kids to learn all about safety on quad bikes and lots more. There were 8 different workstations fire safety, animal safety, trains, the alpine fault, st Johns, kitchen safety, and land search and rescue. At St John's we learned how to wrap a bandage on us with a fake knife in our arm. My favourite one was the LAND- SAR, which means Land, search and rescue you can join when you're 17 and each hour in a helicopter you pay $7,500. We were there from 10:00am to 12:35pm.  Have you ever done something like this before? 

E.book

At the moment for writing, we are creating an E-Book for students in our school.

We are learning how to "show don't tell,"  and how to 'Recraft' our writing to make it better.

This is the E.book that I have been doing for writing it's about a never-ending tunnel and they are looking for special stuff at the tunnel. It took me about a week and this is the image that I used, I got it from pobble 365. Have you ever made an E.book before?

My design

These are 2 paintings that we had to do for cybersmart for the summer holidays to earn points to win prizes. One is the original and the one at the bottom is my design. I like mine because I have switched all the colours around so I could see how it looked like. I enjoyed doing it because you choose the colours and then tap on where the white spots are. Have you ever did something similar to this before? I got the paintings from the art coloring book site.

My Kite!

 

This is my kite that I made we had to do it for our study in energy and test it with the wind. First I had to get three bits of toi toi and tie them with string. Then I had to get some more toi toi and then start tieing them onto the kite. Once I finished I put decorations on the kite I put two feathers on both sides of the bottom. Have you ever made a kite before? 

What Is Media?

 

This is my Media task. It shows all meanings there are computers, news paper's, video games, magazines, and radio's. I did it for cybersmart and I got the Title off Cool Text Generator and I got the images of explore in google drawings. Have you ever done this before?

My Holidays

 

This is the holiday writing that I did it is about hunting up in the mountains with my dad. We went in a helicopter up to a mountain called Mt Brown and we stayed in the hut for one night. The walk back down was 4 hours and every day I was nagging to my dad to go up there and finally we did. I really enjoyed it up there it did snow on the first day and it was -3 degrees. Have you ever been up in the mountains before?

Micro:bit

 

This is my Micro: bit micro bits are a thing and you code it something to do on a website. this video is what I made it's a coin flip game the skull is the head and the square is a tail it was a little bit hard to do and I had to do it for maths with Mr Kanine you can use tutorials to make games and lots of other stuff then you plug in the micro bit and then download the project and then drag the file into a file called MICRO BIT then the back of the micro bit will flash that means its downloading then your done.

Planting

 

Today we planted seeds. First, we needed soil, seeds, and trays. Then we filled them up with soil. When there was a big seed you have to put it in so it's the right size. After that we had to put in the seeds and spread them out they were ToeToe and mountain akeake. Then when we planted them we had to put soil over them and then we did the next tray. Then I had to fill up and then we put them in trays. We did it for Enviro schools. Have you ever done this before?  

Tyres

Today at lunch we got a tyre at went to the top of the hill. We were taking turns, there were me and Oscar in the tyres. When I went down I closed my eyes and it felt wired, it felt like I was falling. then I got pushed in the tyre and I went in a big puddle DUN DUN DUN!!!!, and it went SPLASH I crashed into water and I got wet. Have you ever done something stupid like this before?

Wood-end Camp

 

On Monday we went out of school and we went to camp. The place was Wood-end. First, we had people that we were travelling with Mandy Jolan's mum. When we got there we put are stuff away. Then we got to play around the camp site. Then we got told to come to the front with everyone else. We got told and showed around the camp. After that we got to do this thing called aero jump we had to get tied to a harness and started jumping. The next day we started are activities first we started with a climbing wall it was 3.1m up and we got a harness on and we climbed up, when we fell we would float in the air. We did lots of other activities. Have you ever had a camp before?

Collage

This is the collage that I made. Collages are a thing where you get something like a body and then trim the bit that you want that get other things and make something. First thing I did was get to face and then move it onto the body then added a tail and a shoe that has a jet pack on it. It is farting to and I added Donald Trump's hair and got two guns and put them on the body and flipped one so it looked better. Have you ever done this before? 

Barrier Game

Today we did cyber smart with Mrs Minehin its called barrier game and we had partners. First, we had to tell them where the stuff went and then we got to do our own stuff like my apple that I did but we only got to use 7 shapes and I used three for it. And Jack my partner did a banana. This is one that my partner told me to do. This is his custom one. Have you ever done this before?
